Pearl Motor Yachts, one of the UK’s leading luxury yacht builders, has announced the immediate implementation of its ground breaking computerised yacht maintenance and management system on the hugely successful Pearl 60, the new contemporary styled Pearl 50 and the soon to be launched Pearl 75.
Pearl has developed the innovative computer system, designed to effectively manage the after sales maintenance of all Pearl Motor Yachts, streamline warranty procedures and improve the ownership experience of its boats, in partnership with Powercool Marine Portugal.
Commenting on the system, Iain Smallridge, Managing Director of Pearl Motor Yachts, said: “Pearl Motor Yachts is constantly striving to improve all aspects of our business. We recognised that the old style reactive system of dealing with after-sales boat maintenance could be vastly improved.
Our revolutionary pro-active Computerised Maintenance Management System is designed to manage the on-going technical care of every element of each Pearl Motor Yacht to the highest standard. Extensive tests have already proved that introducing our system dramatically improves the overall on going care of each Pearl Motor Yacht and leads to higher levels of client satisfaction.”
The system, known as Pearl CMMS, which will be included with all new Pearl Motor Yacht sales and available to existing clients at a preferential rate, is designed to be simple to operate. Once a client has signed up, their boat is given a unique identity within the Pearl central database and all the various maintenance tasks associated with the systems on board are automatically scheduled from the factory, following the manufacturer’s specifications.
The Pearl CMMS system allows the factory to monitor the ongoing care of each Pearl Motor yacht in the world. It also allows Pearl dealers to create a full service history of every job undertaken on every boat in their care. This has already proven to be an invaluable tool when it comes to downstream desirability, as clients can demonstrate a full service history of their boat.
Michael Killeen, Managing Director of Powercool Marine, adds: “Our CMMS system for the effective management of boat after-sales maintenance has been tested on the boats in our care in Portugal over the past 3 years. We have worked with Pearl to develop the software and technical training over the past 18 months and during that time client satisfaction levels have been dramatically improved. By adopting the system on their boats Pearl has brought boat maintenance into the 21st century and further enhanced its after sales care so that it can better serve its clients.”
